i am a writer and artist interested in how culture filters into our own
creative production depending on personal history and environment. i am
especially fascinated in the quiet beauty of forgotten things.
Statement
the piece is approx 2" x 4" and took about 8 hours in total.
the original digital image is a silkscreen of a stencil by the english
graffiti artist banksy. i chose this image because it is subverting the
paradigm of cross-stitch, turning a craft that is often perceived as homely
and 'safe' into a tiny anti-war piece.
