LOGOKNITTING THE GAP
From 2003-2006, microRevolt hobbyists were stitching corporate logos of sweatshop
offenders into garments. It was used as away to promote discussion
on how advertising, labor, production and consumption relate. Click here for more logoknit
images.
"Sweatshop
conditions are the basis of the apparel industry, the industry
is defined by a system of production... in which clothing
companies don't make clothing, they make advertisements for
clothing that they actually get from other companies, contractors,
factories around the world that in most cases they don't know." - Scott Nova, Workers Rights Consortium, Sweat Free Communities
