Bio
Perry Lowe is an arts administrator who lives in New York. He recently
took up knitting and needlepoint and has fallen in love with it because
the repetition suits his OCD nature and it's much easier to work with
yarn than paint in a 100 sq. ft. apartment.
Statement
The fist was my first needlepoint project and I used the cheapest yarn
I could find, taking maybe 20-25 hours to complete. Needlepoint is considered
an old-fashioned and feminine activity so I wanted to work on strong imagery
contrary to that notion. The fist can be interpreted as a political call
to action or dirty, dirty gay sex, two things dear to my heart.
